Msheireb Museums Museum 3 Hour Morning Evening Regular Student

The Msheireb Museums are a powerful cultural anchor in the Msheireb Downtown Doha development, dedicated to preserving four of the oldest traditional courtyard houses that represent the original heart of the capital city. They chronicle key aspects of Qatar's modern history, from domestic life to the discovery of oil and the abolition of slavery. The museum complex's activity revolves around using these meticulously restored homes—Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House, and Radwani House—to facilitate an honest and educational dialogue about the country’s past and its transformative journey toward a sustainable future, aligning with Qatar's commitment to heritage preservation.

Information

The key highlight is the immersive and emotional journey through the four distinct houses, each focusing on a specific narrative: Bin Jelmood House addresses the difficult history of slavery and its abolition; Company House explores the early petroleum industry; Mohammed Bin Jassim House chronicles the transformation of the Msheireb area; and Radwani House offers an authentic look at traditional Qatari family life and architecture.

Admission to the Msheireb Museums is Free of Charge for all visitors. While free, it is highly recommended to pre-book your visit online through the Msheireb Museums website, especially for guided or educational tours, as all tours and special sessions require advance booking to ensure an efficient and safe visitor experience.

As general admission is free and reserved without a fee, there is no monetary cancellation or refund policy. Visitors who have reserved free tickets but are unable to attend are kindly requested to cancel their booking online to make the slot available for others. Note that guided tour reservations are final and rescheduling is subject to availability.

Msheireb Museums are highly committed to accessibility. The houses have been carefully restored and modified to be largely wheelchair accessible, including the installation of modern elevators within the traditional architecture. Wheelchairs are also available for visitor use at all of the four museum houses.

Visitors are asked to adhere to a modest dress code out of respect for the location and Qatari culture. Personal photography is permitted for non-commercial use, but guests must not touch the exhibits or walls. Visitors should be mindful and respect the historic integrity of the buildings while walking through the restored areas.

The museum admission, though free, does not include any form of personal accident or liability insurance. All visitors enter and navigate the Msheireb Museums complex, including the outdoor courtyards and pathways, at their own risk. Guests are advised to rely on their own personal or travel insurance policies.
