Dress Code: While there's no strict dress code for tourists, it's advisable to dress modestly in public places.
Women: Shoulders and knees covered. Loose-fitting clothing is preferred. A headscarf is not generally required but can be respectful when visiting mosques.
Men: Should avoid sleeveless tops and shorts in formal settings or religious sites.
Public Displays of Affection: Keep public displays of affection to a minimum.
Greetings: A simple handshake is common. When greeting local women, it's best to wait for them to extend their hand first.
Photography: Always ask for permission before taking photos of people, especially women. Be mindful of privacy.
Ramadan: If visiting during the holy month of Ramadan, be aware that eating, drinking, and smoking in public during fasting hours (sunrise to sunset) are prohibited. Most restaurants adjust their hours, opening after sunset.

Doha Metro: A state-of-the-art, air-conditioned metro system. It's affordable, efficient, and connects many key attractions. Purchase a reusable travel card (reusable for 5 years).
Taxis (Karwa): The official taxi service. You can hail them on the street, book via the Karwa app, or find them at designated ranks. Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Careem are also available.
Car Rental: Available at the airport and in major city locations. An international driving permit is usually required. Driving is on the right-hand side.
Public Buses: An extensive network, but less used by tourists compared to the Metro or taxis.
Qatar is generally a very safe country with a low crime rate.
Stay Hydrated: The desert climate can be intense, especially outside of winter. Drink plenty of water and wear sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen).
